Frequently Asked Questions
Why Managed Social Network Hosting? What exactly is Managed Hosting?
We have seen many clients setup a social network website, have their vendors install it, designer or developer modify it, and then never touch it again. Weeks or Months later the site ends up with broken functionality and even worse, causing security breach due to infrequent updates to the core modules and 3rd party plugins.
When this happens, it's not your fault. Not all companies or individuals can offer to have required IT staffs, resources, expertise, or time to manage your own websites.
As part of our managed hosting service, we will make sure your site continues to work and that it remains secure. So you can focus on your growing business without wasting your precious time on maintenance hassles.
Do you resell or lease commercial platforms like Phpfox or SocialEngine?
No we don't. You have to purchase the legal licenses directly from the vendors.
Do you provide domain registration service?
No, we don't. This is because we would like to solely focus on the quality of the managed hosting service. Here is the list of some recommended domain registrars that might interest you .

Do you offer module or plugin custom development service?

*Note: All info should be submitted via support ticket after logging into Dashboard's Client Area.
Are dedicated IPs assigned to the hosting plans?
By default, all accounts are assigned to shared IPs. Due to the ongoing exhaustion of the IPv4 address space, we are required to be strict about allocating IP addresses. We are only able to accept SSL certificate installation as justification for assigning IP address to these accounts, no exceptions. For more info, please refer to SSL Certificates and Certificate Issuers.
If you are worried about search engine ranking using shared IP, here is what Google Director of Technology Craig Silverstein said in a Slashdot interview: “Actually, Google handles virtually hosted domains and their links just the same as domains on dedicated IP addresses. If your ISP does virtual hosting correctly, you’ll never see a difference between the two cases. We do see a small percentage of ISPs every month that misconfigure their virtual hosting, which might account for this persistent misperception – thank you for giving me the chance to dispel a myth!”
Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s Webspam team also said: “Links to virtually hosted domains are treated the same as links to domains on dedicated IP addresses.”
In summary, for both questions – “Can a shared IP address affect my rankings?” and “Can my website rank higher if I use a dedicated IP address?” – the answer is, “No.”
