An addon domain is a fully functional domain that can be created from within your control panel. Creating an addon domain gives you the ability to control multiple domains from a single account. Think of it as having multiple hosting packages all sharing the same control panel and of course, the same hosting account resources.

This diagram shows when domain’s files will be stored in a subdirectory of your "/home/YOUR-ACCOUNT-NAME/public_html" folder as below:

Or if they are stored on the same level as public_html:

which is recommended, so it can't be asscessed as main domain's subfolder from a web browser via URL "http://www.yourdomain.com/AddOn1.com"). You can give this addon domains email addresses, forwarders, and more the same way you do for your main domain on the account.

The addon domain will appear as a totally separate domain from your primary domain. There should be no evidence that your domain is an addon domain to incoming traffic when they visit your addon domain.
